i have a hip replacement. ceramic/metal/plastic. can’t be removed ever. any advice for this other than don’t get anymore? no root canals, no other metal. i was crippled and in constant pain for 3 years as i resisted what i knew was a toxic solution, but pain made me nuts and i couldn’t function anymore
Use your hip as less as possible. Definitely don’t walk round hills as it only makes it wear out faster. My friend avoided knee surgery by using a special healing light that cost a fortune. If you get a hip implant it will have a galvanic reaction to any other metal in your body like those screws. You probably have become hypersensitive to the metals as pain is a symptom of hypersensitivity to metals. If you found something that helps, keep doing it. It may do wonders for your hip too
good advice. also work on building up your glutes. hip pain is often from sitting too much and weakening glutes while your quads are much stronger pulling the hip anteriorly. i also found certain foods hugely increased my pain. nightshades, specifically potatoes, especially fried. i was also undiagnosed celiacs, so gluten was causing systemic inflammation. of course i found all this out after surgery. doctors don’t care why your hip hurts and things you can do to avoid their scalpel. so try gluten free and quit the nightshades and see if any pain lets up. i still had significant pain after surgery and only changing diet and investigating underlying causes, asking to be tested for celiacs, did i get better. they wanted to cut my flexor tendon!!!
Good advice. Thank you. I’ve been working on my diet to decrease inflammation and to lose weight (lost 30 lbs over last year, 🙌). I’ve mostly quit bread and flour, but I have to say I need to work on potatoes. I bought a recumbent exercise bike last week. Hopefully that helps. I hear you about surgery. I hated having my ankle fused, but ankle joint replacements are not made to last a long time, especially 10 yrs ago.
It sounds like you’ve definitely developed a hypersensitivity to the hip implant if potatoes affect you like that. When we develop a hypersensitivity to metals it makes us hypersensitive to every other chemical in our environment, including the slightly toxic phytonutrients in vegetables. I have to stick to eating red meat most days. Sometimes coeliacs is actually a hypersensitivity to nickel and not coeliacs at all. Seems strange you didn’t find out til after surgery. Bread also has nickel in it. Have you ever been tested for a mthfr variant?
interesting i didn’t know that about nickel. i have some mthfr variants. i have the gluten antibodies with super low ferritin so pretty sure it’s celiacs. avoiding nickel is damn near impossible without being carnivore. i think the hip pain was partially due to celiacs and i was undiagnosed for so long. but i’m screwed now. oh well not much i can do about it that i know of. thanks for the info though
I worry about this too. I may need a hip replacement. I’m trying not to but it’s hard to be in pain. I think it isn’t quit bad enough yet though. I’m concerned about metal as I still have screws in my ankle from requiring an ankle fusion 10 yrs ago after developing post traumatic arthritis from an ugly break. I think I may be developing some sensitivity to the screws, as I have been having pain when all I do is rest my ankle on my bed sheet at night. Interesting, it has improved after applying dmso (70% solution) to my ankle religiously for several months. My new plan is to start applying it to my hips everyday. Hopefully that helps! 🤞🏻
I'm in the same position, but I take a tablespoon of DMSO orally in water every day. It helps more than topical, and some evidence suggests it remodels tissues.
That’s definitely been on my mind. I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. You make me want to give it a go though. I think I might start with a smaller amount and work up, just to make sure I tolerate it. Do you have a specific manufacturer that you prefer? I’ve been using Natures Gift, but I got it off Amazon and I’m a little leery of quality for internal use.
have you look into getting the screws removed? if the ankle is fused then screws shouldn’t be needed anymore. you want to avoid the galvanic current that happens when you have more than one metal in your body. taking the screws out might also help your hip. finding a doctor is the hard part. they never want to take out what they put in
This is what my chiropractor told me too. I plan to follow up on it. Hopefully, I can get them out. Otherwise, with exception of the location of the screws, the fused ankle isn’t causing any problems.
You have all my sympathies, while many types of implant can be removed, hip implants can’t. All you can really do is avoid metals in food and drink and everywhere else in the environment so no processed food or tap water. Drinking silica water may help. I make my own from Dennis N Crouses recipe called silicade. It certainly helped me. I have bone cement in my spinal column that can’t be removed. I drink silica water and eat lots of beef or lamb fat. I’m also on codeine for pain and lorazepam to suppress my central nervous system as once we become hypersensitive to metals, we become sensitive to all chemicals in our environment. The lorazepam has meant I don’t need to inject Adrenalin everyday too. It’s working well. I also sleep on a blow up mattress that is 18 inches high and have 8 inches of memory foam on top of that

They get infected and the silicone itself is toxic.
Yes, I know women who developed siliconosis from breast implants
