Germ theory and terrain theory both have a similar problem: they limit their view of illness to the body, germs in the body and the terrain of the body. Causes of illness can be present in diet, body, mind, spirits, communities, and environments, each of which can be viewed as a layer of the whole "terrain" of a living individual.
I think the biggest problem is that they are both allopathic medicine constructs, so effectively they are designed to protect industry from liability. The argument between the two I find quite pointless, as terrain theory still blames the patients body for creating disease and ignores the role of environmental exposures
“Removing antigenic foreign objects from the body is the only way this can be achieved with chronic disease, and this will see the patient suffer no withdrawal symptoms when they stop the opiates, or other substance that may be mitigating their symptoms.”
I fully agree with this statement. It reveals the essence of treating autoimmune diseases.
To study terrain theory comprehensively, we need to acknowledge and include the terrain of the mind (thoughts, ideas, beliefs - right and wrong, healthy and unhealthy), of the spirits (healthy and unhealthy intentions, motivations, etc.) and of our communities which also have aspects of healthiness and unhealthiness, which can also be healing, or sickening.
Terrain theory is still allopathic medicine. Proponents of terrain theory still believe disease is caused by the human body, still aren’t allowed to investigate cause(because they believe the cause is the patients own body) and still can’t seek a cure because they don’t investigate cause. That’s the paradigm allopathic drs have to work within. If allopathic medicine switched to terrain theory, nothing would change, it wouldn’t lead to improvements in health.
That’s why people have to go to environmental medicine drs, as they can test to see if your recent dental filling or orthopaedic implant or surgical clip etc has caused a neurotoxic event and then you can organise to get it removed. I avoid looking into terrain theory too deeply because it’s allopathic medicine working within the constraints of the allopathic paradigm and is not healthcare. It’s still just treating symptoms with pharmaceutical interventions and blames the patients body for creating disease, as that’s their job
Environmental medicine makes terrain theory or any other allopathic ideology redundant and have decades of test results and case reports that prove it. Environmental medicine drs are the only reason I’m still alive today. The practices and dogma of allopathic medicine have come close to killing me multiple times. That doesn’t make them all redundant, as we need surgeons to perform certain surgeries, but often these surgeries cause harm to the patient because they employ neurotoxic products which they leave in the body.
What happens when a case of disease is cured by killing a germ? The cure is ignored. No doctor counts cured. No clinic counts cured. No hospital counts cases cured. No insurance company pays for cured. They don't dare. Approved treatments are counted and accounted for, paid for- irrespective of cures. Cures don't count.
What happens when a case of disease is cured by healthing the terrain? The cure is ignored. No doctor counts cured, much less the cause of the cure. No clinic counts cured. No hospital counts cured. No insurance company pays for cured. They don't dare. Healthing the terrain is not an approved treatment. Cured doesn't count.
That’s right, and it’s why chronic disease rates are so high, because they don’t investigate cause, as the paradigm of allopathic medicine don’t allow them too. It’s not the drs job
Germ theory is what science/medicine promotes today, disease is caused by “catching” a bacteria or virus. You are at risk of it spreading to you regardless of what you do. Terrain theory is the alternative (I believe, closer to accurate) that says the body expresses symptoms of disease due to imbalance within the body. Sometimes the body does this to clean itself up/remove the toxin. Sometimes the body does this to maintain equilibrium. Many terrain theory advocates say this can be done to factors both within and outside the body (ie. 5G radiation exposure).
Also, terrain theorists believe that if a person’s “terrain” within their body (ie gut microbiome) is well-developed (through nutrition, stress management, sleep, etc)the body will not express s/s of disease, but germ theorists believe this, too; but due to strengthening of immune system. Certainly do appreciate your perspective, as I think it only adds to the complete picture. People always want to distill the complexity of the human body down to one simple answer, and you show that it is wonderfully complex. So interesting! I only found your Substack yesterday, and I can’t wait to read more! Best wishes for lots of inspiration and success!
The problem is that both terrain theory and germ theory are both allopathic. So if tomorrow they suddenly switched to terrain theory, drs would still not be able to investigate cause or seek to cure as that’s not their role in the paradigm of allopathic medicine.
Nothing would change. They are both faulty in that they both blame the patients body for the creation of disease. It is very easy to improve one’s health simply by removing environmental causes of disease from the body like root canals, dental fillings, implants, IUDs, and surgical clips etc. removing them will see the patients health return to what it was before the foreign object was put in them and any deficiencies they had will recover. They will then have a fully functioning immune system and won’t be susceptible to deficiencies or things like chronic Lyme disease. In fact, people have found that their chronic Lyme disease has cured itself after removing foreign objects from the body, as the immune system now has the resources to do so. Foreign objects cause deficiencies to occur as the body tries to cope.
Wow! I’ve been into nutrition since early 2000’s when a dietician told me I should eat jelly beans for calories because I should avoid foods with protein and phosphorous due to a genetic kidney disease. A light bulb went off that they had nothing for me. I began researching like my life depended on it, because it did. I spent long hours at the local health food/hippy store. .. the things they’re finally talking about regarding nutrition, I discovered a long while ago. I have heard here and there about mercury amalgams. I know how dangerous mercury is. I had two tiny pin dot size cavities filled as a child, and never any tooth trouble since. Never seriously thought to have them removed because I feel pretty well. However, you’ve got me seriously thinking about having them removed…
I agree with you though I think you misunderstand 'Terrain Theory' which, in my mind, says that the environment / mileu dictates the health of the body.
Terrain theory says the internal environment of the body creates disease, not the external environment. Environmental medicine drs are those who deal with environmental exposures, like toxicologists

Unfortunately I learnt this from experience repeatedly, but while I don’t value the experience, I do value what I’ve learnt

It will definitely lengthen your life. But only replace them with metal free ceramics like saremco.
